We hosted our Annual Meeting and Past Presidents Dinner on November 14th and enjoyed an evening of camaraderie, networking, and a delicious dinner with both long-time and brand-new chapter members. We shared a few results in our 2024 in Review remarks and heard a rousing presentation on The State of Tech in Ohio from Chris Berry of OhioX.
And special thanks to our friends at Expedient for sponsoring our dinner this year!
Highlights from our chapter results in 2024 include:
- 19 new members so far this year; in fact, membership has nearly doubled over the past two years
- 8 events in ’24 vs 6 in ’23; total registrations up 121% and average event registration was up 63%
- Financial returns are a net surplus for ’24 with revenue expected to exceed expenses by a healthy margin
Looking forward into 2025 we’re targeting 20% growth in membership, continuing our partnership with SIM – NEO, growing sponsorship revenues, and presenting programs on cybersecurity, AI, the local tech jobs market, and more.
Our keynote presenter, Chris Berry, shared exciting news on tech in Ohio. His remarks featured:
- an update on AI impacts across many industries in the state,
- autonomous vehicle development and support in Ohio,
- augmented reality and virtual reality business growth and state-supported training,
- status on the Intel chip manufacturing plant,
- and more.
Hearing about all of the exciting things happening across the state from Chris, it truly is a great time to be in the tech sector in Ohio!
